You should be spending around 10 minutes a night on homework for Kindergarten. Reading with your child is one of the most important things to can do to build your child's literacy skills.

Read with your child each night.
In My Hat - Your child will be bringing home a photocopied book to read to you. Look at the -at word family words in the book. Have them point out different sight words. Please make sure they point to the words as they read the pages.
Some students will be bringing home a Guided Reading book on Tuesday. Please read it with your child and return on Wednesday.

Homework for the week of November 14-17
Read with your child each night
Tuesday a photocopied book will come home with your child. Also there will be sentence strips and pictures. Have your child read you the book. Make sure they point to the words as they are reading. Activity - Match the sentence strips to the pictures. They can use the book to help them figure out which picture the sentence goes with if they need to. We will have done this activity at school so this will be a review for them.
Making Words - On Wednesday or Thursday there will be a baggie go home with photocopied letters in it. From the letters they can make the wrods you, can, go, in, on, a. This is something they can do over the weekend to practice. They can look in the book to find the words if they need to.
